Caprice No. 13

Caprice #13 by Luigi Legnani is one in a set of 36 short but dramatic pieces written for solo guitar. It stresses proficiency with alternation. All parts are level 4 with a level 8 guitar 1b that shifts between 2nd, 3rd and 5th positions. The melody will be shared between parts 1 and 2. It is necessary for part 2 to alternate on the D string at certain times within the melodic passages due to the faster tempo. Issues of dynamic balance and rhythmic evenness will need to be addressed at the repeated eighth note figure between parts 1 and 3 at measures 8 and 27, as well as the alberti bass figure between parts 2 and 3 at measure 18.
