“Chorale” By Matthew Hinsley is an all Level 3 piece that does not incorporate string crossing. It is a fantastic introduction to alternation and should be played at the very beginning of Level 3 (See Alternation Sequence). As always, accents, dynamics, phrasing and tone are the most important aspects of the piece when teaching. Students will need to be very comfortable with reading accidentals to play “Chorale”.
