“Dark Eyes” is a Level 2 piece that incorporates many of the same skills as “El Chinati”. There are simple three note chords in the Guitar 2 part that can be played with a variety of styles, especially when repeating. The students can play block chord accompaniment with pim. Another option is to play the chord with a p downstroke. For many students, this will be the first time they read B flat. Make sure to cue left and right hand fingering for this note. Harmonics are optional in the first part for the repeat. Take some time to vary the repeat somehow (for example, play the piece sul ponticello first, and sul tasto during the repeat).
