---

Hope, Persistent is based on a simple melody written while I was on family vacation in 2012. My intent for this piece is to invite an experience of hope that both encourages and uplifts. The best kind of hope I can imagine is the kind that does not back down, give in or give up on me--but rather seeks me out every day of my life. I wish to be this kind of hope to others. Compositionally, this is a compact theme formed from diatonic involution of the initial three note melodic fragment (m15). A Relentless Hope follows a simple song form, with a short development section toward the end and is composed from a pluralistic perspective (incorporating minimal, tonal, serial and popular techniques).
