“They Are Coming” is a menacing all level 5 piece that would fit into level 3 from a reading perspective, but is rather quick and rhythmically complex. There are no fingered bass notes in any part and accidentals are abundant. Focus on the tempo/rhythm of the ensemble to ensure togetherness. Accent is paramount. This piece should be mechanical, ominous, and even scary. “They are Coming” would be a fantastic piece for a Halloween concert. If you have some especially advanced Level 3 players, this piece could be a great challenge. Level five players should move through this piece quickly.
