9b. Extension Timing - PIMA Arpeggios

PIMA Arpeggio

The material in this video follows directly from the concepts introduced in the Extension Timing - PIM Arpeggios video. Be sure and watch that video before watching this one.

Similar to the PIM arpeggio, PIMA requires the guitarist to play and prepare fingers simultaneously. This technique requires proper execution of thumb strokes while the I, M and A fingers are simultaneously reset, or planted on adjacent strings. Similarly, the I, M and A fingers will then execute proper free strokes one after another. After the A finger plays, the thumb is reset on the appropriate string. The thumb then plays again and the process is repeated in rapid succession.
