Minor Waltz - Open String Reading

Minor Waltz - Open String Reading

In the video, the teacher demonstrates how to introduce "Minor Waltz" to your class. "Minor Waltz" is a level 1 piece that includes fundamental techniques such as open string reading, executing P I M strokes with good tone in the fixed position, left hand finger placement, and performing with great dynamic contrast in an ensemble setting. It is important to notice how the teacher in this video has the class say each part aloud (“rest, note, note”) then instructs all students to play the part with good tone. After all student have demonstrated the ability to perform all parts, the teacher divides the class into different sections and performs the piece with dynamic contrast.
